How to Set Link Expiration Dates and Click Limits

Not every link is meant to live forever. When running limited-time discount campaigns, private webinar invites, or product drop promotions, you want your link to stop accepting visitors once the promotion ends or the spots fill up.

Two Ways to Expire a Link

EZY gives you two simple ways to automatically retire a link, and you can even combine both on the same link if you want maximum control.

Date and Time Expiration

Pick a future date and time on the calendar. Once that exact moment passes, the link stops forwarding visitors to the destination.

Great for: End-of-month sales, event RSVPs, or contest deadlines.
Total Click Limits

Specify a maximum number of clicks (for instance, 50 clicks). As soon as that click count is reached, any further visitor is politely stopped.

Great for: First 100 customer coupons, beta testing access, or limited download links.

What Do Visitors See When a Link Expires?

Nobody likes landing on a cold browser 404 error page. When an EZY link expires, your visitors see a clean notice explaining that the link has expired or reached its maximum limit.

This tells visitors the link was genuine, preventing confusion and protecting your brand credibility.

How to Reactivate an Expired Link

Changed your mind? Extended the sale by another week? You do not have to create a new link.

One-Click Reactivation

In your Links list on the dashboard, any expired link displays an Expired or Click Limit badge alongside a quick "Reactivate" button.

Clicking Reactivate instantly clears the expiration restrictions and restores traffic immediately. You can also click "Edit" on the link to pick a brand new future date or raise the click cap.

How to Turn on Expiration

1
Click Create Link or Edit Link: Open the link modal from your dashboard.
2
Open Link Expiry: Expand the "Link Expiry & Limits" accordion section.
3
Pick Date or Click Cap: Select your target expiration date and time, enter a maximum click count, or both.
4
Save Changes: Click "Create Link" or "Save Changes". Your link will monitor clicks and timestamps in real time.
